 BASIC RECRUITMENT IS NOW RECRUITING FOR THE CLIENT- LARGE, PRESTIGOUS AND WELL MANAGED COMPANY BASED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WITH FOREGIN BRANCH IN BELGIUM, EMPLOYEE FOR THE OPENED POSITION: Process engineer PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Ensures – for the process part of a proposal/project – on time and with the required quality: a)Process related studies. b)The production, or part of that, of safe, operable and economic process designs including process, auxiliary and utility engineering flow schemes – in a specific area of technology and within the process design expertise of ASAP – in accordance with Proposal/Project Management requirements and ASAP’s contractual obligations. Fully considers plant operation during all stages of plant design. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Process design & engineering of process plants for the oil and/or petrochemical and/or chemical and/or pharmaceutical industry. Environmental studies and design. Performs process related calculations with the application of software where required. Prepares equipment data sheets and provides physical data for engineering purposes. Prepares process, auxiliary and utility flow schemes according to the instructions of a Senior Process Engineer. Assists in the preparation of proposals. Reviews with senior process staff the required process design and process engineering calculation methods and the application of software. Assists in estimating the manhours required to complete the assigned process work. Assists in the preparation of: a)Environmental related reports for the authorities. b)Studies regarding the process performance and economics of equipment and process units/utility plants Fully considers plant operation during all stages of plant design and reviews the mechanical design for adherence to the critical process concepts. If assigned as a Process Job Engineer: (in addition to the above) Plans, organizes and directs the production within the Process Department for a proposal or project. Advises Proposal/Project Engineer on technical risks in process design and process engineering. Reviews with the Project Engineer – after proposal submittal – all required process design and/or process engineering changes prior to implementation of these changes (e.g. for meeting performance guarantees) in the project phase. Communicates with/reports to the Project Engineer for project execution matters such as progress of the work, outstanding matters, etceteras. However, with the understanding that the Project Engineer has certain authorities. Reference is made to PRB-144. Consults Principal Process Engineer/Senior Process Engineer on: General matters of staffing; quality of work; performance of his team members; project procedures and working methods; design audits. The Division Manager/Department Head may check, review and audit the process work at any time. Languages Good knowledge of active and passive English, French and preferably also German. Experience Not required. Professional knowledge Workable knowledge of: “Unit Operations”. Process engineering calculations. Instrumentation. Knowledge of: Piping specification. Plant layout including safety and environmental requirements. Engineering flow schemes, standards and symbols.
