 BASIC RECRUITMENT IS NOW RECRUITING FOR THE CLIENT- LARGE, PRESTIGOUS AND WELL MANAGED COMPANY BASED IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WITH FOREGIN BRANCH IN BELGIUM, EMPLOYEE FOR THE OPENED POSITION: SR. CIVIL ENGINEER PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Prepares, on time and with the required quality, economic civil engineering designs, calculations and civil subcontracts within the agreed manhours, material/subcontract budgets, schedules, using ASAP and/or Client’s standards, procedures and further requirements. Specializing in the professional fields A) and B): A)Engineering and design for: concrete foundations and structures, buildings, paving, roads and railroads, earth work, drainage, special sewers, appurtenant provisions and similar items. Requisitioning for: free issue materials. B)Engineering and design for: structural steel (excl. pipe supports), superstructures, steel frames for buildings, structures e.g. for rotary equipment, elevators, small lifting equipment and similar items. Requisitioning for: free issue materials. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Supervises technically the engineers performing work on items assigned to him. Ensures he understands (and acts accordingly): a)(project) quality assurance/control procedures. b)(project) cost and schedule control procedures. Ensures timely that the Civil Job Engineer is informed about “hold” areas. Reports four-weekly to the Civil Job Engineer: A)The progress of civil engineering activities. B)Manhours required to do or to complete the activities assigned to him. Ensures that vendor/subcontractor documents, incl. any maintenance and operating manuals, have been checked adequately. Decides on engineering problems. Defines civil vendor’s/subcontractor’s scope of supply for his professional field. Participates in civil vendor/subcontract coordination meetings. Has the authority to: Instruct civil personnel assigned to him on the execution of the work and working methods to be applied. Languages Good knowledge of active and passive English. Experience 10+ years of experience in Engineering & Contracting, in particular experience in: a)Civil engineering and design in the professional fields of ASAP b)Supervising the work of subcontractors as a Craft Supervisor during construction c)5+ years of experience as e.g. a Civil Engineer preferably for EPC/LSTK contracts. Professional knowledge Sound technical knowledge. Sound knowledge of international and local standards in Civil engineering as far as applicable for ASAP’s field of activities in the assigned area of specialty. Sound knowledge of the ASAP organization procedures covering: a)Quality assurance/control b)Cost (change)/material quantity control c)Schedule control Broad knowledge of the remaining ASAP organization procedures. Workable knowledge of computer aided civil design.
